The questions posed by the urban scenario of Marghera are not at all uncommon. The decay of industrial areas and the resulting urban voids constitute a phenomenon observed in multiple cities in Europe and throughout the world. Nonetheless, the fragile balance of the Venetian Lagoon System, the significant logistic obstacles and the precious architectural heritage of the area, present unique characteristics that, on account of their complexity, could prompt to build a model for urban regeneration projects worldwide. Hence, a prospective project could include the construction of a research station focused on urban recycling schemes.
