EN/ At the beginning of the XX century,  Mestre’s industrial zone had an important development thus constituting as the first industrial zone of the Petrolchimico. The growth of industry was accompanied by the construction of new infrastructures such as highways. These infrastructures implied some improvals,  however they also created a barrier between the city center and Marghera.

Since then Marghera has been conceived more and more as a separated part, independent to Mestre. The project Highlight Marghera intends to re-connect the center of Mestre with Marghera,  by using the residual spaces left by the infrastructures and abandoned buildings.  These provocative spaces could host new practices and cycles that could highlight Maghera.
