Carles Crosas is a PhD Architect and Lecturer at Barcelona School of Architecture. He has been teaching Urbanism at ETSAB since 2001 and has been invited to universities in Europe and America. Current Vice Dean for International Relations in ETSAB, he is former collaborator and assistant teacher to Professor Manuel de Solà-Morales. Predoctoral Fellowship UPC-DUOT 2001-04, he is a researcher at the Barcelona Laboratory of Urbanism where he is coordinator and participant in various international projects dealing with historical grid transformation, collective urban spaces and cogenerative design. He has developed since 2003 various scale works and competitions of architecture and urbanism as co-principal in SFCA architects.
Claudia Faraone is an architect (2004, IUAV Venezia), European PhD in Territorial Policies and Local Project (2011, RomaTre, LAA|Paris Villette), post-graduate at EMU - European Postgraduate masters’ degree in Urbanism (2007, UPC Barcellona, TU Delft e KU Leuven). Since 2004 she has been participating and organizing several workshops, research projects, exhibitions and audio-visual productions dealing with urban explorations, cultures of production of urban space and its practices. Since 2005 she has been collaborating as teaching assistant at the IUAV Architecture University of Venice, Roma 3 University, and at Advanced Course of Visual Arts at Fondazione Ratti in Como. She was research fellow at FIRB2008|LUS-Living Urban Scape and FSE at IUAV in Venezia and visiting research fellow at Ghent University and UEL London University. Besides research activities she has been involved in studio practices and public offices. She is founding member of ETICity|Exploring Territories, Imagining the City.
Geoffrey Grulois is an engineer and architect (FPMs & Tokyo University) and PhD in urbanism (ULB). In 2005, he cofounded the master urban design studio Space Speculation in the Faculty of Architecture of ULB. Since 2012 he is coordinator of LOUISE – research Laboratory of Urbanise, Infrastructures and Ecologies and since 2015, he is coordinator of the erasmus+ Strategic partnership Metropolitan e-studio and a participant of the Metrolab transdisciplinary laboratory for applied and critical urban research (www.metrolab.brussels)
Luca Nicoletto is an architect graduated at IUAV University of Venice in 2013 (mentors Maria Chiara Tosi e Stefano Munarin) with a thesis ‘Esplorazioni sull’abitare’ concerning strategies to renew housing heritage at the age of the shrinking cities.
He has been collaborating as teaching assistant at IUAV University of Venice since 2014. He has been involved since 2015 in a research team where he has been studied citizens feedback after pedestrianization of their neighborhood has become car free. He has been working since 2013 in different architectural offices.
Maria Chiara Tosi is an Associate Professor at IUAV University of Venice, where she is also member of the faculty board of the PhD in Urbanism.
Since 2016 she has been selected as member of the Research Foundation Flanders FWO expert panel.
Her recent books include: Welfare Spaces. On the Role of Welfare State Policies in the Construction of the Contemporary City (2014), and Toward an Atlas of European Delta Landscape (2014).
She was Visiting Researcher at the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley and received a PhD in Urbanism from Sapienza, University of Rome.
Nadia Casabella holds master’s degrees of science and engineering in architecture (1997) from the UPC Barcelona and in spatial and regional planning (2005) from the London School of Economics. She is founding partner of 1010 architecture urbanism Ltd., adjunct professor at ULB Faculty of Architecture La Cambre-Horta, and research fellow at the Laboratory of Urbanism, Infrastructures and Ecology - LoUIsE. Her interest for infrastructural and ecological linkages and their socio-technical embededness has resulted in spatial planning schemes like “The shared valley” (T.OP NOORDRAND) and “The Coastal Line” (OSTEND GSRP), as well as in her active partaking in many international research by design collaborations like the masterclasses RE:WORK (2013), END OF LINE (2014), and UP-CYLE (2015), the Atelier Brussels Productive Metropolis (curated by AWB for the IABR 2016), the lectures' series “Designing with Flows” (ULB, 2015), or the Erasmus+ strategic partnership “Metropolitan e-studio” (2015-17) accessible in this webpage.
